DIY Peppermint Lip Balm for Softer Lips

Contents

If you have any problems with cracked lips, I will give you the ultimate solution: DIY peppermint lip balm. I am obsessed with lip balms. And I am always trying new recipes. So, this time I wanted to have a refreshing lip balm. And softer lips as well.

Beeswax in this recipe will give the consistency I want to this amazing lip balm. Here, I chose sweet almond oil. But as I have said before, you are always free to choose your own oil. In this case, sweet almond oil will act like a carrier oil. And with beeswax, it will be the main ingredient of this amazing DIY peppermint lip balm recipe.

Why Should I Prepare DIY Lip Balm?

You will know what is inside your lip balm. And you will know what you are applying to your lips. In case of commercial products in the markets, we have no idea they are putting in those products. We are applying these balms and creams on our hand.

So, it is always better to avoid harmful ingredients. When you make your own products at home, you can use the ingredient you like. This way, you no longer have to apply a product with harmful ingredient.

DIY Peppermint Lip Balm Recipe

In this recipe, I choose peppermint essential oil. But like in all other DIY recipes, you can play with ingredients. So, replacing peppermint essential oil with other essential oils like rosehip can be a good way to have fun.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of beeswax pastilles
  • 2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil
  • 3 – 5 drops of peppermint essential oil

Preparation:

  1. First thing you need to is melt beeswax and almond oil. You can use a double boiler for this step. Add beeswax and almond oil and melt these oils.
  2. Take the pot from the heat. Wait for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add peppermint essential oil to the mixture and combine all ingredients.
  4. Transfer this mixture to a clean container. You can use one of your empty lip balm containers.
  5. Your DIY peppermint lip balm is ready.

How to Use DIY Peppermint Lip Balm

When you want to use this amazing DIY peppermint lip balm, just directly apply to your lips with your fingers. Massage your lips with circular motions.

You can use this amazing lip balm every day. You will start to feel that your lips are softer.

Can I Use This Recipe for Hand Balm?

Well, you can. In DIY world, only limit is your imagination. When you change couple of things, you can turn a lip balm into a hand cream.

You might ask “how can I do that”? Let me explain it to you. Just take peppermint essential oil from the recipe. And replace with lavender essential oil.

Boom. You have a lavender hand cream now. Or use a rosehip essential oil. The same goes for turning hand cream into lip balm. Actually, this is what I love about homemade cosmetics. There is no limit. You can do everything you want.
