Recently, I am obsessed with homemade cosmetic products. I know that most of the commercial products in the market are full of unknown and harmful chemicals. I am a bit tired to reading all the labels before buying a product I like. So, this time I decided to make my own homemade foaming hand soap with glycerine.
In the past, most of the soaps we bought were organic and natural. But with new industrial things, brands are often hiding the ingredients. And they are saying that it is their trade secret. I don’t like that and this is why I have minimised by commercial product purchases.
Okay. So, in this recipe I will try a foaming hand soap with natural ingredients. And I will use one my favourite ingredients: coconut oil.
Actually, this soap is a glycerine soap but I also wanted to add coconut oil. Glycerine I use is a vegetable based product. So, it is perfectly natural.
Now, I will explain why I added coconut oil to this recipe. First, I tried it within coconut oil. But I felt that my hands were a bit dry after using the soap. Yes, I knew I had dry skin.
And like all other dry skin, it really needs moist. But when I was preparing this recipe for the first time, I didn’t think of that fact.
Luckily, when I tried it for the second time, I decided to make small changes. And this time, I added coconut oil in the recipe.
Also, you can change this recipe as you like. You can add other carriers oils that will suit your skin type. Since I have used scentless liquid castile soap, I was free to add the carrier oil I like. There is no risk for mixing different smells. Okay, let’s now see how I made my DIY homemade foaming hand soap with glycerine.
Last time I tried this recipe, I used basil essential oil. And the smell was amazing. I love playing with different smells. So, sometimes I combine different essential oils like lavender essential oil and tea tree essential oil.
When you make your own DIY foaming hand soap, you can add your favourite essential oil to your recipe.
Pour scentless liquid castile soap into the clean and empty soap dispenser.
Add vegetable glycerine, organic coconut oil and lavender essential oil in the dispenser.
Fill the remaining part of the dispenser with purified water.
Shake all the ingredients well.
Enjoy your homemade foaming hand soap with glycerine.
Before using your homemade foaming hand soap, you need to shake the dispenser to mix all the ingredients. This is because oils will be separated from purified water. If you shake them before using, everything will be okay.
There is one thing to note about this recipe. If you have sensitive or allergic skin, you may want to use essential oil carefully. We all know how beneficial essential oils are to your skin. But sometime people with sensitive skin may experience allergies or other problems.
So, if this is your first time with essential oils, you may want to try it on your hand before adding to recipe.
