How to Make Coconut Oil Toothpaste Recipe?

As I read the labels on cosmetic products, I can no longer use them. First, I tried Paradontax that does not contain flor. It has salty taste. Later, I bought organic toothpaste with tea tree from organic market. But I learnt that toothpaste can also have harmful ingredients. Some of those are Sorbitol, Silica Hydrate, Glycerine, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, Sodium Saccharin, Sodium Fluoride, Titanium Dioxide.

So, I did a little research. I found some homemade toothpaste recipes. Everyone was adapting those according to their preferences. I tried to use organic ingredients. You can buy from your spice market as well. Here is my recipe:

What does our natural toothpaste have?

3 table spoon organic coconut oil
1 table spoon organic olive oil
4 table spoon carbonate
1 table spoon sea salt (I used rock salt, but you should mill it nicely)
1/4 tea spoon orange oil
10 drops of mint oil – you can use lavender or tea tree. This will become anti-bacterial

Homemade Toothpaste Preparation:

Before starting to perpetrate the recipes, don’t forget to check I Have Warned You…

1Mix all the ingredients in a cup to make a paste.

2You can increase carbonate and salt if it has too much water. You can adjust the salt ratio.

3You may omit olive oil. You can add more water if it is too solid. You will find the ideal recipe with trial and error. After mixing the ingredients, fill the mixture to a small jam or cream jar. This will go for a long time.

I am using homemade toothpaste for 3 days. Although it is oily, it is still refreshing. If you want intense mint taste like classical toothpaste, you can add more mint oil. But you should be careful with usage as carbonate corrodes the teeth. It is better to use chew stick and dried plant mixture at certain days. Dried plant mixture is sold in spicy shops as tooth powder.

This recipe was formed after trial and error. Although it is made from natural and edible ingredients, you should never swallow toothpaste. Carbonate, excessive salt, and certain oils may cause pain in your stomach. Please consult to your doctor in case of emergency.
