For a long time, I am avoiding most of the commercial deodorants on the market. After I talked to my doctors, most of them advised me to do so. It is because those products have various chemicals that could even cause cancer. So, I am making my own homemade deodorant solid to avoid using these commercial brands. And this experience has been extremely fun.

The results are amazing as well. After trying this homemade deodorant solid recipe couple of times, you will become master at it. And it will become easier each time you make your own deodorant.

Commercial deodorants on the market have tons of chemicals that could have negative effects on your health. Especially, the liquid deodorant products contain more harmful ingredients than solid deodorants. I don’t want to use any products that could harm me.

So, homemade deodorant solid is a natural cosmetic product that will decrease the bad smell caused by excessive sweating. This will be a solid deodorant because it is hard to achieve the consistency of liquid deodorant at home. Also, it is hard to store the liquid form without spilling anything.

Homemade Deodorant Solid Ingredients:

2 tea spoons of organic coconut oil
1 tea spoon of fair-trade shea butter
1 tea spoon of organic beeswax
1 tea spoon of baking soda*
2 tea spoons of arrowroot powder**
5 tea spoon of bentonite clay
2 drops of essential lemongrass oil
2 drops of essential citronella oil
2 drops of essential tea tree oil

*If you have sensitive skin, you can omit baking soda. Instead of this ingredient in your homemade deodorant recipe, you can replace it with the same amount of bentonite clay. If you have normal or oily skin, you can easily use baking soda.

**Arrowroot powder is generally good for sensitive skin. However, if you have normal or oily skin or if don’t have arrowroot powder at home, you can use corn starch instead. It will make no difference in the recipe.

Homemade Deodorant Solid Preparation:

Add coconut oil, shea butter, and organic beeswax in a double boiler.

Melt all three ingredients. You need to stir the mixture when you on heat. Also, the heat should be medium to avoid burning the ingredients.

Add baking soda (or additional bentonite clay if you have sensitive skin), bentonite clay, arrowroot powder (or corn starch powder), essential lemongrass oil, essential citronella oil, and essential tea tree oil into the mixture.

Combine all the ingredients until you obtain a homogenous mixture.

Pour the liquids in a container (this could be your old deodorant container).

Place the container in the fridge and wait for 3 or 4 hours.

Enjoy your homemade deodorant solid.

This natural, organic, and homemade deodorant solid will be an amazing product for you. You can apply this deodorant solid every day. And just a couple of wipes will be more than enough. If you are using homemade deodorant solid, applying too much can block the effectiveness of the product.
