How to Make Homemade Rose Petal Body Scrub?

This was one of the days I want to mix things up a little bit. So, I decided to change my homemade lavender soap scrub recipe. And I made homemade rose petal body scrub. You may ask is there any difference? Actually, these two recipes are almost similar. I was looking for new ingredient than lavender. So I improvised with rose petals. The results are amazing. This natural homemade rose petal body scrub will make your skin softer after bath.

Where did this rose petal ideal came from? Well, I was considering essential rose oil for a homemade body scrub. And I thought of adding rose petals to have an amazing looking body scrub. Rose petal not only gives a vivid pink colour, it also increases scrubbing effect of sugar. When you use this homemade rose petal body scrub, you skin will become whiter, and definitely look better.

Let’s see how I made my own homemade rose petal body scrub. You can try this recipe and enjoy a relaxing body scrub with amazing rose smell.

How to Use: Homemade Body Oil

Homemade Rose Petal Body Scrub Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of dried rose petals
  • 2 cups of white sugar
  • 2/3 cup of coconut oil*
  • 5-10 drops of rose otto or geranium essential oil
*Coconut oil here is the carrier oil of the homemade rose petal body scrub. You can change coconut oil with sweet almond oil or any other carrier oil. Since coconut oil is my favourite ingredient, I used it in this recipe.

Homemade Rose Petal Body Scrub Preparation:

Add the rose petals in a blender or food processor.

Start the processor or blender to obtain small pieces of rose petals.

Add those rose petals and sugar into a large bowl.

Mix all the ingredients.

In another bowl, add coconut oil and essential rose oil.

Mix these ingredients until you obtain homogenous mixture.

Pour the oil mixture on the rose petals.

Mix all the ingredients until you obtain homogenous mixture.

Place this mixture in a clean container or jar.

Enjoy your homemade rose petal body scrub


Before completing this amazing homemade rose petal body scrub, you can test the consistence of the mixture. If you want sugar to dissolve in the mixture, you may add more coconut oil. Also, depending on how oily you want, you can balance the amount of ingredients.

I have tried my own homemade rose petal body scrub and the results were amazing. Depending on your skin type, your skin may need more oil, especially if you have dry skin.

You can store this mixture for almost 6 months in a dry and cool area. You need to make sure that you protect this mixture against ants and other insects. Since it has sugar, this homemade rose petal body scrub may be favourite product of the ants as well. So, it is always better to make small amounts and consume the body scrub in short ime.
