How to Make a Homemade Acne Spot Treatment

You will need the following.

  • A bowl
  • A spoon
  • Some cinnamon powder
  • Some honey
  • A lemon
  • Turmeric

Step 1

Start with a clean bowl and add half a teaspoon of turmeric powder. This spice is used extensively to treat skin conditions as it is known to kill bacteria. It also has antioxidant properties that reduce your skin’s melanin production.

When this happens, it will lighten skin blemishes and marks. Turmeric is an amazing ingredient for this treatment. It may leave your skin a little orange after you wash it away, but do not worry because it will fade away in a few hours.

Step 2

To the turmeric powder, add a teaspoon of cinnamon powder. It should be finely grounded. The cinnamon is great as it works as an exfoliate. You can also use it as an antifungal, antiseptic, antiviral, and astringent.

This also helps in deeply exfoliating the skin, stimulating the pores, and making the skin appear nice and fresh.

Step 3

Next, add in the lemon. Just do a tablespoon of the lemon juice and add it to the mixture and ensure to blend it very well with a spoon.

Lemon juice is a very important ingredient as it contains a good amount of L-ascorbic acid, which is a natural astringent. This also contains some antibacterial compounds that help to dry out the acne.

Some people however do not like it, and if it doesn’t suit you, then simply skip the lemon stage of the recipe.

Step 4

Finally, add in the honey. Just a tablespoon of it in the mixture and blend all the ingredients using a spoon to form a fine paste.

Do not skip honey in the process as this is a great ingredient and a very strong addition. Honey is used extensively to treat acne for all ages, and it works at cleaning up the skin, opening up the clogged pores, reducing pain, and eliminating bacteria.

It will also hydrate your skin and avoid dryness that can happen when applying all of the spices to your face. In case you don’t like honey, just substitute it with some milk or yogurt.

Applying the Treatment to Your Face

You should apply the paste right where the pimples are, and then leave it for around 15-20 minutes before rinsing it off.

Pat on the dry skin and then apply a good amount of moisturizer to avoid dryness. If you have leftovers, you can store the rest of the recipe in the fridge for around 3 days and then reapply every day after that.

This is a simple yet effective natural treatment procedure that works. It is good enough for your skin, as it does not contain any chemicals that could cause harm to your sensitive skin. Follow the procedure laid out above.
