Mango and Shea Butter for Hair Growth – Recipe for Hair

Recently, I was suffering from fry hair. And my hair wasn’t growing as fast as I want. So, I decided to make a hair mask that will make my hair stronger and speed up the growth. While I was thinking of which ingredients I can use for this mask, I came up with this amazing idea. Mango and shea butter for hair growth.

Shea butter is the key ingredient of homemade cosmetic products. So, I decided to mix things up a bit and added mango to this recipe. I know it may be hard to find mango in certain regions, but don’t worry. I will also give an alternative for this ingredient.

The butter like creamy structure of mango will make your hair shine. And you don’t need to worry about the smell of mango as well. With these ingredients, you will have a nice smelling mango and shea butter for hair growth.

DIY: Mango and Shea Butter for Hair Growth Ingredients
  • 150 grams of natural mango – if you can’t find mango at your local stores, you can always use raw mango butter sticks. These sticks are sold online and are easier to obtain compared to mango itself.
  • 2 table spoons of natural shea butter
  • 1 table spoon of natural coconut oil
  • 1 table spoon of sweet almond oil
  • 1 tea spoon of jojoba oil
  • 1 table spoon of castor oil

You can always play with ingredients. When you are preparing your hair growth mask, you can change the oils with other ones. This is all up to you. Above, I gave you’re the list of ingredients I have tried. But, always remember. When you are making DIY homemade cosmetic products, you are the boss. Don’t be afraid to change the ingredients and make your own recipes.

Mango and Shea Butter for Hair Growth Preparation

Take mango butter, shea butter, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, and castor oil in a pot.

Place the pot on medium heat.

Melt all the ingredients.

After all ingredients are melted, mix them with a blender. You should have a creamy look.

Transfer the mixture in a clean container.


You can apply this natural mango and shea butter for hair growth before taking a shower. You need to evenly distribute the mixture from roots of your hair to the tips. Wait for 15 or 20 minutes.

Then, you can wash your hair regularly. Also, while washing your hair, you can use homemade shampoo and conditioner. This way, you can complete your hair care in the most natural way possible.

This mixture will last for 1 or 2 months in the fridge. I recommend keeping the mango and shea butter mixture in the fridge. Because when you keep them at room temperature, oils started to get lose. And the consistence of the mixture will disappear. After using this amazing DIY mango and shea butter for couple of weeks, you will see the difference. Your hair will start to grow faster. And what is more, you hair will loot healthier.
