7 Natural Masks for Sun Damage on Face

Sun damage on face is a common problem. When we don’t use sun screen, sun rays can damage our skin. Although we can see the signs of this damage later on, it is extremely important to take our precautions. Once we have skin spots or sun spots, it is really hard to reverse them.

Generally, sun spots are super stubborn. They won’t go away no matter what we do. At least, you have thought so until now. I will give you 7 natural masks for sun damage on face. These masks are super easy to prepare. And you will reverse the effects of sun.

What Is Sun Spot?

Sun spot is actually a skin problem caused by excessive production of melanin. Melanin is the colouring agent of our skin. So, amount of melanin on our skin determines if we have dark or light colour. But when our skin is exposed to sun, melanin production increases. Since our body wants to protect itself, it will produce more melanin to turn your skin darker. But this also leads to sun damage on face.

In addition to overexposure to sun, there are other reasons for skin spots. Some women might develop skin spots while they are pregnant. These are known as pregnancy spots and they are more common than you think. Also, genetics play an important role on your melanin production. Thyroid related diseases might also increase amount of melanin.

Banana Mask

Ingredients

  • Banana

Preparation

You need to rub the inside part of banana peel to your face. This part will help reducing skin spots caused by sun damage. Wait for 15 minutes and rinse your face with warm water. Apply a moisturiser to prevent your skin to become too dry.

Another option for this mask is mashing banana with a fork. Apply this banana mash on your skin. Keep it for 20 minutes. Wash your face with cold water.

Lemon and Coriander Mask

Ingredients

  • 1 freshly squeezed lemon
  • 1 table spoon of coriander

Preparation

Mix freshly squeezed lemon juice and coriander in a blender. Apply this mask on your dace after cleaning all your make up. Wait for 15 minutes and rinse your face with warm water. Complete your skin care with moisturiser.

Aubergine Mask

Ingredients

  • 1 medium size aubergine
  • 4 cups of water

Preparation

Wash the aubergine and slice into four equal parts. Take these slices into a clean pot and cook them until aubergines are soft. Remove from heat and mash these aubergines until you have puree. Apply this mask on your face. You can apply this mask as warm or wait until it cools down. Wait for 15 minutes and rinse your face with warm water.

Oxygen Water Treatment

All you need to do is apply oxygen water on your skin spots by using a clean cotton pad. You need to keep oxygen water on your face. So, it is better to apply it at night before going to sleep. Repeat this process every night.

Grape Mask

Ingredients

  • 10 pieces of grape
  • ½ cup of water (approx. 125 mL)

Preparation

Wash the grapes, cut them in half and remove the seeds if there are any. Add these sliced grapes and water in a blender. Make a puree. Wash you face with a neutral soap. Apply this grape mask on your face with gentle circular motions. Wait for 25 minutes and wash your face with cold water.

Milk, Lemon and Honey Mask

Ingredients

  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice of half a lemon
  • 2 table spoons of milk powder (approx. 20 gram)
  • 4 table spoons of organic honey (approx. 100 gram)

Preparation

Squeeze the lemon in a clean cup. Add milk powder to lemon juice. Add honey and mix all the ingredients. Apply this mask on your face and wait for 20 minutes. Wash your face with warm water. Remember to apply moisturiser after this mask.

Carrot and Egg Mask

Ingredients

  • 1 medium sized carrot
  • 2 eggs

Preparation

Peel the carrots and dice them. Add those carrots and eggs in a blender. Mix all the ingredients until you obtain a smooth mixture. Apply this mask on your face with gentle circular motions. Wait for 20 minutes. Wash you face with cold water.
