Homemade Face Moisturiser with Coconut Oil Ingredients
- 1 cup of aloe vera gel
- ¾ ounce of beeswax
- ¼ cup of sweet almond oil
- ¼ cup of coconut oil – try to use an organic coconut oil
- 10-15 drops of essential oil*
- Doubler boiler
Homemade Face Moisturiser with Coconut Oil Preparation
First thing you need to do is melt the beeswax and coconut oil.
You need to melt these two ingredients in almond oil.
After melting all the oils, wait couple of minutes (for 15-20 minutes) until the mixture is a bit cold. Otherwise, you will get burned while trying to mix everything together. Also, it is important to cool down the mixture to prevent all ingredients getting separated.
Take the slightly cool mixture into the blender and mix everything together.
While blending the melted oils, you need to add aloe vera gel and essential oil (if you are going to use one) to this mixture.
Combine all these ingredients in the blender until you obtain a consistent mixture.
Transfer your mixture into a clean container.
Your homemade face moisturiser with coconut oil is ready.

Can I substitute any of the ingredients?
Well you can. This is homemade face moisturiser with coconut oil recipe. So, you are always free to play with what we here. Once, I tried to add pigmenting material to make a foundation like face moisturiser cream. Of course, the results were not amazing. But at least I tried.
Also, you can change the essential oil. Or use another gel instead of aloe vera. I personally prefer aloe vera gel. But other people have tried the recipe with aloe vera juice or aloe vera oil. And the results were good.
So, you can always try something new and use what you have at home. No need to make extra expenses. Just use ingredients at home to make your perfect DIY face moisturiser.
Do I need blender and double boiler?
Yes and no. You will surely need blender to combine all those ingredients. It is super hard to achieve the consistency you like by just stirring with hand.
If you want that creamy look of face moisturiser, you will need a blender. And you will need a strong one too. When it comes to double boiler, you actually do not need that one. You can just use a jar and pot with water for that.
Alternative for Double Boiler
Just fill the pot with water. Add coconut oil, beeswax and almond oil into a jar. Place this jar inside the water. You need to be careful not to burn yourself or the mixture of oils.
Slowly stir the oils. This may be a bit slower than double boiler but it really works. Alternatively, you can use microwave. It takes longer but it will work fine.
